In chapter 90, the sunbae confirmed with Moondae that he also went back in time. Since the sunbae went back in time much earlier, he encountered the missions first and is assuming Moondae has the same system so he is also assuming they both have the same missions which is true.

Moondae didn’t explicitly tell him about the missions but he also didn’t tell the sunbae that their systems were different and that he can see the status screens.

So the sunbae had to literally repeat and die over and over to figure out the missions in the first place, while Moondae had the status screen telling him the missions.

Okay got that, but how did the sunbae notice moondae has the same situation as his? What did moondae do that give away the whole do or die missions?

Cheongryeo doesn't remember a trainee like moondae in his previous regressions (he's bound to remember if that person is always trending) + (+STIER weren't as successful as testar) and the way moondae reacts to certain things like when he told that ghost story. He's really smart which is annoying.

To add on to that Moondae, a participant that wasn’t even in the previous idol survival show is now in the show and even got the first place. So its bound to look suspicious to him.

Cheongryeo (the sunbae) lost his regression ability prior to Moondae participating in Idol Inc (before chapter 1) so it’s not bc of that.

I don’t remember how it was explained in the manhwa but in the novel it was basically a case of ‘right answer, wrong solution’.

During Cheongryeo’s numerous restarts, in one of the cycles, he met the person who had the regression ability before him and learnt that the regression ability passes from one person to another. Since he already lost his ability, he knew a new person would appear with it again soon. He ended up deducing that it belonged to the ‘normal civilian who ended up 1st place on Idol Inc’ bc he thought Moondae must have restarted his life 2-3 times already in order to win.

He didn’t realise that Moondae only went back in time once and that he doesn’t have the same restart ability either (so once he dies, it’s all over).

Wow, that’s so interesting, was this skipped in the manga or will it be brought up in the future?

Before it got to that point, Cheongryeo told Moondae the ghost story about the idol who kept going back in time (since its a very specific situation) to discreetly reveal his status as a regressor and the fact that he knows Moondae is one too. And of course, Moondae revealed he was also a regressor since the two of them needed to gather/exchange information for their own means. Even when they exchanged info, Cheongryeo made a comment saying he thought Moondae already died once and reset after failing to debut in Idol Inc., only for Moondae to reveal he hadn't died yet after regressing.

This part should be in the manhwa already but it might not be clear bc of story adaptation limitations + bad translation combined.
