i don't really know how to feel about what happened after the main story but there's one thing i'm sure of

i don't like luan's father and brother. i was so pissed off from the start with his brother, i understand he still has asthma but that attitude towards his little brother? they all treat luan like a spoiled brat because how "emotional" he can be but his brother is the real spoiled one here. it feels like he dumped all his responsibilities just because he's a little sick, and then blames luan that he's not as "good" as he was when he was younger. and luan developed a complex about being lied to because of how his brother lied to him ever since they were younger!

and with his dad smh, be so real right now, is luan your child or just your heir? it's no wonder shane turned out to be like that. the fact that our first impression of his family is a brother than lies to him and parents who never listen to him. i hate how flippant he is towards luan's opinions and passion, and in fact, i'd even say it was his fault that luan was pushed to "punish" clauden when he didn't recognize him. i felt like it was really built like that, how his father didn't acknowledge his desire to have his own love and not an arranged marriage, and giving an ultimatum and deadline to find clauden. and then, when luan was going through difficulty, he makes the butler do everything for him when he's supposed to be luan's father! he never comforted luan when he was sent away, nor when luan was regretting the order to punish clauden. and in the only scene where he comforts him after the strom in the mountains, he couldn't even give luan a straight answer when he was asked if he could "let go someone he loved like luan's mom"!

in fact, everything about the story was built to be against luan finding clauden and recognizing him at first sight! clauden's letters not being delivered to him, so he wouldn't remember clauden while he was away. his family's attitude to him voicing out his desire. of course, we can't ignore those freaking greedy ahh villagers too. i still hate how his time away was leading to a cute reunion but it was ruined because of everything that factored to his frustration. while i absolutely hate what happened, i can't even say i completely blame him.

as for the mom, lmao, she wasn't even present enough for me to form a solid opinion on her. i do like how she tried to stand up to the dad when luan was being sent away and said he was making the bulter do everything for them, but other than that? damn, i feel like the favouritism for shane was just another reason that luan never felt supported by his family.
