while i do think jk has changed it still feels like he didn't repent enough? like I'm sorry but why is the suffering he should experience by grovelling and regretting and begging forgiveness once again being set aside and substituted with more suffering for kim dan???
like don't get me wrong I love angst and I was pretty happy tbh that dan suffered some more but that shouldn't come at the expense of jk's own consequences?
it feels like the arc that this story should've had (jk suffering the consequences of his actions, and earning forgiveness) was eliminates and replaced with another arc that TO ME doesn't have the same level of storytelling and just satisfaction (jk being relieved of consequences of his past decisions by means of helping kim dan after even more harm was caused to him, just by a third party this time, painting jk as a saviour and avoiding addressing/solving his past faults by introducing new wrongs that werent done by him)
it feels like it robs jk of actual growth by not having him right his own wrongs, just someone else's who conveniently showed up at the right time.
It does not matter that he wouldnt do what he did again, he has to actually apologise and work his way to forgiveness for the resolution of the story to feel emotionally satisfactory.
like all this time I was waiting for Kim dan to find out that jk actually showed him bound, gagged, blindfolded, and fucked to the actor guy which was INSANE, btw, and it was just never addressed??????? Kim dan will literally never find out?????? such an evil, deeply cruel act, and it doesn't even get the chance to be forgiven (which i still would find insane), because its literally never found out??????
anyway, jk's growth/forgiveness will never feel genuine/earned to me until it actually deals with his own wrongs and doesn't use a cheap and frankly insulting "trick" to pardon him of all his sins by virtue of an act he didn't have ANY personal stakes in, therefore rendering it meaningless
What kind of suffering are you even expecting, please be realistic and remove someone's fictional story from your personal delusional expectations.

hmm....so you mean that things like this happen in real life so it's unrealistic to expect a different scenario with added suffering and more redemption which the author herself promised?
