Chapter 4: “When you’re in a relationship or dating someone, do you need to like them 100% from the start? Some people think it’s just a matter of time for them to reach 100%. That’s what I think too.”

I didn’t think much of this quote until I read Takara’s POV from ch6. Then I had an epiphany. Let me cook for y’all ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Based on his demeanor towards love, you would think Takara has more dating experience than Taishin. Naur, naur, naur. This couldn’t be further from the truth. This dude has never dated once in his entire 20 years of living. And I bet my left pinky on this.

Let me break it down for you. His personality is the type to hold onto something the moment he gets invested in it (ch6: “Takara, you’re quite straightforward when it comes to things you like.”). He’s never given up on any of his interests (ch6: “I’ve been collecting marbles since I was in first grade. But I’ve never thrown any of them away.”) So if he has even the slightest interest in someone, he will fall hard for that person. Taishin wouldn’t even be able to butt in (ch6: “If I were to like someone, what would it feel like? If that happened, would I want to hide them then, and keep them all to myself and never let them go?”). Therefore, this quote from ch4 is Takara’s declaration of love. He fell for Taishin the moment their eyes met (ch6: “They were sparkling and quivering… reflecting only me. But I couldn’t just pick them up. They weren’t marbles.”). So when Taishin asked Takara to go out with him (he didn’t exactly ask lol), it was Takara’s way of asking permission to turn his like into love (ch3: “But I might not be able to act as if nothing happened. I don’t know what I will do about you in the future. Maybe I’ll treat you as a schoolmate with whom I don’t get along. And I won’t care about you this much, right?”). He knew if they date, he would eventually reach 100%. It was only a matter of time. In conclusion, Takara is unexpectedly romantic ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
