I came back in 2024 hoping that this manga is completed and luckily it already is.

I’m very emotional with this one because i waited since 2021 (check my last comment). After finishing it, i feel like wako doesn’t deserve to be mad at by takeo. In the first place, if takeo truly is in love with him, he could’ve helped wako from his depreciating self and supported him. Not the first thought to scream at him when wako was overthinking and made it worse.

Another point is, takeo should’ve just admitted that it was ao (cupid ni rakurai: prequel to this manga) who made him realize that he could develop feelings for men, when wako mentioned and asked takeo that there was a particular person who made him.

Overall, i think this manga could’ve been written well if takeo chased wako instead the other way around. I want to see takeo releasing the truth to wako (although i assume that he doesn’t seem to realize it was ao who caused his feelings before, therefore oblivious to it). Definitely would beg for Season 2 for their college life and eventually their working life. I need to see takeo’s progress, i think that this manga alone is not enough to appreciate takeo’s development.

i don’t think takeo having his “chasing” arc would really change anything other than make things more complicated. in the first place the problem was always that (naturally) because wako had been in a one-sided love for so long, he’d find it hard to trust takeo even when takeo already said and showed through his actions that he cared for wako a lot. wako’s overthinking was very understandable but also, takeo being mad at that was also understandable, and, takeo wasn’t even “mad” (bc we see that he still took care of wako even after his outburst) he was just upset that wako would rather talk to others and investigate instead of just talking to takeo himself. takeo is not some kind of villain who needs to “develop” so much, because everything, every action that the characters did are all very realistic, especially considering they are in highschool and likely don’t have much experience.

also, since the moment wako confessed and takeo first proposed that they try going out, wasn’t takeo already “chasing” wako at that point? takeo did what he could, faced his feelings, and the moment he realized that he actually was in love with wako, he made it clear through his words and actions. it also would be out of character for wako to not reciprocate takeo’s feelings, since he’s been in love with him for so long, his only problem was really judging the sincerity of takeo’s feelings, which he was rightful to do so anyways.

anyways, that’s just how i interpreted the manga. i think everything worked out perfectly, and all the characters made very understandable decisions given their personality and situations they were in.

Good point, but chasing in a sense of feelings of regret can make this story spice things up. A spin of events.

Takeo asking if they could try things out may not instantly seem as “chasing” for some, yet the first thought screams that Takeo is gender curious. Wako was not the one who made him curious, it was Ao (MC in Cupid Rakurai) and if you read that you’d understand the tension between Ao and Takeo first before events with Wako. It feels a bit sad that Takeo decided to try things with Wako as if taking advantage on his obvious love for him (at least that’s how i see it). To me, it just doesn’t feel right, even though his intentions aren’t ill. Compared to Wako and Takeo and Ao and Takeo’s timeline, Takeo had a longer time to process his feelings for Ao, about how they became rivals then eventually got jealous of Shingo because Takeo also wanted the attention of Ao. Then gave up after being sickenly showered by Shingo and Ao being lovey dovey. However, Wako and Takeo’s relationship, despite being childhood friends, in no way Takeo thought of Wako as someone he would date prior the confession. The story would be more interesting if Takeo admitted that Ao was his first guy crush, i find this as a suitable closure despite giving more complications in their relationship depending on how Wako reacts. What better way of closure than speaking what’s true.

Edit: scratch the gender curious, it’s sexual orientation curiosity

i've read the updated chapters in the org's website. i personally think that shen zhan's sister's case wasn't suicide. im speculating pinky has an obsessive liking towards shen zhan's sister so she might be involved with the alleged killing. Also, yexin is sus, he also might be involved with the killing, more like that was his actual mission. The scene where i find him sus is on ch. 15 (at the end part), he ran away with zhen's sister's autopsy report when zhen was sleeping in the car. I don't know if that was a motive or he didn't ran away, but anyway the last chapter updated there was ch. 15 and it's still ongoing.
