I don't know why he can't seem to figure it out, even after glimpsing himself in the other time line, dying and still concerned for her in the end. If he had hated her he wouldn't have been concerned for her in the timeline.

It has been mentioned in earlier chaps that their father is barely seen in their home and in the story cuz he's always out on the frontlines (it also have been implied many times that their father is a powerful knight but never reach swordmaster, but he out in the battefield) but still father is so useless because even if he knew still he can't do anything abt it (against a swordmaster/marchioness and emperor, and also the 2 swordmasters under him apparently)
