I also agree on how they started liking each other for no main reason. More on the Prince part tho

He fell for her mind. First time he saw her, he was just curious because she had swordsmanship hands. When he realized there was no real background on her, he became suspicious and researched her. His interest in her continued to grow as he found out who she was. Especially after her response when confronting her about it. Then she said something about how his father and he had been negligent at looking after the empress. The way she phrased that and her moral integrity. That’s when he started falling for her. Him falling for her was gradual and definitely present throughout the plot; absolutey not out of nowhere.

As for her… She’s so not used to having male attention like that, that she found his off-putting. However the consistency of him asking her to have private moments with him, leading up to him asking her to call him by his name, that’s when she started being flustered. It wasnt until that very moment that the crown prince’s aid started thinking that the crown prince might have a chance. Right now it’s more like she’s finally self-conscious around him, rather than having straight up feelings.

Still not sure why some of you guys feel there was any Yuri bait in this. No Yuri tag and the summary doesn’t even suggest it. And even if you were unsure, it takes 5 chapters before the readers meet the crown prince and automatically realize it’s not Yuri. Yet we’re at chapter 30 and it’s still a topic of conversation

Oh, that’s fine. The way their feelings developed is one of my favorite things about them, so I was just explaining that it didn’t come out of nowhere.
