I really wish books like this would talk about classism more. Imo, the characters have no right to talk about how she used to kill when that was the only way she could survive. It's always seen as a brave thing when nobility does it (kills for survival) so why is it bad when a poor person does? None of these nobeld have the right to criticise when they've been born with a golden spoon in their mouth and have never felt the awfulness of being poor.
True. They don't have to struggle for shit like she does. They already have a backer or someone to go back home to who are loaded and can pretty much set them for life and they need to do is bring glory in their house's name while she needs to survive because she has nothing and obviously was brought up in poverty.

I will never understand why authors script colonisation, racism etc. into their fictional universes just for it to have little bearing on the story. Like there's no need . Why did they make him a coloniser, why would you WILLINGLY write that
ikr it was said so casually too, like this man kills natives more cruelly than when he’s fighting in war??
RIGHT?? LMFSOJON LIKE I HAD TO DO A DOUBLE TAKE BC IT WAS JUST SLIPPED IN
