Now that’s where things take an abrupt turn. Readers need to differentiate fiction and reality. A fair warning should be made and readers should understand rape should never be applied to real life. Everybody should know this, especially young ones. Educate yourself beforehand. I just wanted to elaborate on this comment

1. Being straight is totally okay, idk why you're betting on that like is some kind of bad thing, that's childish
2. For me personally reading stuff that has rape based on emotional manipulation was always way more interesting than romance dramas, cuz it shows how easy someone's feeling can be manipulated.
3. I get your point that some of the young generation tend to see a happy ending and thinks "O wow, that's hot, who cares about the rape, pedophilia etc. I want a life like that". Yeah agree, that's weird and wrong. But don't put us all in that category. Rape in real life is traumatic and wrong, but rape in fiction could possibly show rare emotion/ thinking and ever if I doesn't it's okay to like it cuz it's fiction.
Not to mention that almost every early yaoi is tagged rape. So the fujoshies /fudanshies who started reading like 5-7 ago or earlier didn't have many choices, even so we do make the difference and don't enjoy real rape.

I really don't know if it's most people that romanticize it. I think more people who do, also comment, and those who can make the difference, don't bother to leave a comment. But after all I believe that the ones who don't romanticize rape are more.

Yeah im not trying to invalidate someones sexuality it’s just im queer myself and they seem like a straight fujoshi/fundashi who think yaoi is a realistic depiction of gay relationships anyways i just find it disturbing,,, and yeah i also get that and i personally like angst but the way rape is portrayed in 90% of fiction is very romanticized and if u want to include the topic in stories it should be shown how bad it is and what psychological problems it can cause on the victim etc. and if u wanna see hot r*pey scenes or whatever there should at least be a warning before that shows that it’s bad u know:/
And regarding the old yaoi/yuri stuff yeh obv it was way worse back then and like these readers are older now but u never know if it didn’t impact them negatively,, anyways this comment is really long and i don’t rlly wanna fight with anyone i don’t wanna shame anyone for liking certain stuff it just makes me concerned when people openly say they enjoy traumatizing stuff because there’s a fine line between fiction and reality

Yepp obv many ppl realize like actual r*pe is bad but there’s still a lot of different types of abuse like coercion and emotional abuse etc. which is rlly lowkey but it’s so common in mangas/manhwas and anyone who reads that stuff a lot (esp young who probably never were in a relationship before) get the signal that this is how relationships should be and that that’s alright

Guess It's because I started reading romanticized rape/ pedophilia stories at very young age and never thought its romantic, or how its should portrait a relationship, but still find it interesting to read, that now I have the mindset that most of the young readers don't romanticize that too. But I'm actually glad that there are people who are concerned, just I don't think any of the people under that topic are. That got so long bruh
