they're basically friends. He's been in a relationship with monica (pink haired girl) the entire duration of the series. Like they decided to take a break two chapters before the season finale of season 2. The story thus far has been more focused on sam with charles (blonde guy) so he's most likely endgame but since the story isn't over, you never know. but as of rn, he's (marshall) in a horrible mental state and struggling with depression, which is one of the reasons why him and monica went on a break.
