I reckon uke's not unattractive per se but is considered ugly by korean standards. Like he has freckles, red hair, not really tall and scrawny but overall he doesn't seem that bad. I mean if he was objectively ugly he would look like that even compared to other characters, however he just looks different and not adjacent to what's considered mathematically attractive (aka the korean beauty standards)
