Yoonwon is having a hard time, he is always being paraoid, afraid Wondae would actually leave him, so its super hard for him to believe no one is gonna abandon him, its not easy when he has that kind of trauma (i can relate), even when it is a stranger who said something about your lover, but since from the beginning he has that kind of mindset, so in his head it is true Wondae would actually leave him bcs he didn't deserve to he loved as his mother always said before.
As for Wondae, my boyfriend has a similar condition(?) with him. He has no one in his life since he was a child, NO ONE is important for him, he felt like he has no purpose of being alive. But when someone who truly loves him come to his life, he is getting attaced to them (in my bf case is me). He suddenly have a purpose to be alive, is to be with me. One day, i've asked him like "what if i dissapeared from your life?". Without hesitation he said "Then i have no purpose in life, i have no one who'll love me like you do." Not just once i told him to live his life for himself, but he always said "Nope, i cant. You are my purpose in life. I'm just nobody without you." So yeah, i very much understand how Wondae feels, i understand why he want to gave up his chance to go to collage, since Yoonwon is his purpose to go to collage in the first place.
But this is just purely my opinion since its kinda similar to what happened to me(?) So yeahh....
