Started off okay but just has too much going on. Jewel's story is never truly explored or explained properly. Kaylus' origins are iffy, has the blood of a witch but apparently golden eyes of the Gods appwar in the end. His relation to the duke is badly explained. So, this story lacks a lot and the reader has to draw their own conclusions about the characters and what certain things mean, because the author rushes through the story, even after buliding up to what was supposed to be the climax. Would not recommend, if you like to FULLY understand what you read. The romance makes no sense either, Kaylus' motives aren't explained, like why did he suddenly change his mind about protecting her or following her?? It just seems odd. The storline with her brother, like what happened to him and who was her mother??
My understanding about kaylus’ bloodline is this: great-grandparents - Lorelei and Antoine (prev grand duke), grandparents - Hansel and blonde lady. His dad died on the way back to the fairy forest. BUT this still doesn’t explain why he had the gold eyes like you said. It was mentioned at the end there that he had some sort of “sealed” powers but they still don’t explain where he got god powers from.
Her mother was a witch, no doubt. It was the lady in that sailor uniform who guided her to the family mausoleum. FL’s dad rescued her from the sea(?). But I don’t understand why she was in a sailor outfit that looks like a school uniform. So my theory is that she was a witch from the far future and somehow ended up in this timeline.
I’m confused about jewel/juvel’s background too since apparently he had titan blood. The story about the empress who disappeared and came back pregnant might be suggesting that that was him. But then why did the emperor turn him over to the magicians?
I feel like this could have been longer. The material was good and I hope the author gave more background stories. People popped left and right and after a page or two of explanation of their relevance they disappear. It was good though even though at times it was confusing,
This was a really good read and i loved how all the characters in a way tied together (although it was a bit confusing sometimes). Also the ending felt a bit rushed but i’m still content with it (▰˘◡˘▰)
could someone explain to me who kaylus parents are, which chapters are they in? and who was the last little witch who was left behind? I don't see through there.....too complicated... pretty please <3
You find out about Kaylus' parents in ch.15.8 and I'm unsure who the last little witch was. They said she didn't have powers so maybe she just lived her life as a human and that was that of the tale.
Read ch.15.8 it talks about Kaylus' parents. His father is the son of Lorelei and the previous Grand Duke. That's why you see the fairy queen again in Kaylus' flashback in the chapter he wakes Skyla up from her coma.
I thought the near end was gonna be a disaster but everything worked out so smoothly lol and i LOVE the relationship between the FL and ML! Not so cheesy having moments where they make u smile and laugh
I think it's implied that her mother came from another continent so probably the eastern continent. The author did say she mixed both modern and historical European elements so she probably did that to imply that Skyla's mother is from Asia I think.
This was a really cool premise, and I would have liked to see more world building. My fav parts were Skyla actually learning from witches even though she was always shadowed by Kaylus.
So many beautiful and strong female characters yet Kaylus was the Big Cheese, he even brought the Witches back. He was such a Gary Stu, even to to point of being a descendant of the gods (and the grandson of a Witch and Grand Duke) and raised by Fairies.) I applaud the author's restraint in not making him part vampire (though he seems immortal enough so it doesn't matter).

So...why is Skyler's mother wearing Modern school clothes???
Don't judge maybe she invented it... or maybe truck-kun got her too xD

So.......are they immortals???
I mean...ML and FL.
that chapter where she gets her first period was soo funny
