man... the fucking romance ruins everything in this manga... even in the anime. it's supposed to be sport. why just WHY is there trashy ass developed romance. i mean the girl isn't even a complicated and interesting character.... the author made her so boring and annoying. just hearing her voice in the anime cringed me tf out. girls r NOT like that irl. skipped all those eps. this is why i hate romance. they sexualize the girls too much and id rather just go without it so it doesn't ruin the whole sports plot, which would have made this fire. and ippo, the main fucking character, RETIRES. IN A SPORTS MANGA. ew. ruined.

You have to remember. This manga is OLD. Like REALLY OLD. So some character traits and situations aren't going to age as well for modern readers
