found this story ages ago(2015-ish) and already thought at that time that this was good and fun since the story started off funny and the art is really good and it still is. Rereading it now i quite like the trajectory the story went to as well but idk i kinda wanted a bit more from the ending. ngl I also kinda want to track down physical copies of this because of the art hehehe too broke tho.

This manga is a great read but mostly for the funny moments, angst, and if you wish for a sort of sad but not exactly sad ending like 'Dancing with the Devil', it is not a happy story where all the characters end up happy just some of them will. The main characters are happy, three of the side characters are happy; Ren's sister, the princess, and her maid, while the others aren't happy whatsoever. I did enjoy all of this story, it kept me captivated till the end, and left me with a need to cry yet I could not express tears for any of the saddened characters since they themselves acknowledge that this was not their faults and they couldn't stop any of this from happening. I highly recommend reading but don't wish for an utterly happy ending for everyone since this is not that type of story.
It says everyone is happy. It doesn't look like that at all. First, Van was abandoned by his master. Second, Dambi didn't come back to her mistress. Third, the soldiers just found out that their family was made massacred by their king. Fourth, the father didn't even see Ren. Last, only Ren with Kiran and the other bride candidate with her guard were happy. There was only ruin and barely anyone who was happy with anything in the end.
There is a plot, it's not just romance. I think a lot of people didn't like it because they just wanted to see some love story, and this manga focus on the mystery more than anything else. (And I liked reading it too)
I loved it! There is a plot and if you really could care less if there was romance or not definitely read it. I agree with the one comment those who seem to dislike this manhwa is because there no romance or love interest and not even shounen ai. If your okay without those definitely give it a read.

.....I am conflicted I want to like it but I dont so I'm just gonna imagine everything I want to so I dont NOT like this manga at all.
