after reading ranma and inuyasha, i think it’s safe to say the author really love the trope where the side couple(s) aka mc with 2nd FL somehow get MORE intimate interactions (like kissing and or hugging) than the main couple(s). while in inuyasha it’s kinda justifiable cause the first one is a one sided from kikyo and the second is when she’s literally dying, this doesn’t make it less annoying cause inukag doesn’t even get a SINGLE kiss. and it’s even more annoying cause despite having 1, 2, or even more other men crushing on them (akane & kagome), it never got explored more seriously cause the “fl has to be loyal to mc” bullshit.
tbh i read this for some hurt and anger, cause i hated the anime after watching it for the first time (you know that feeling when you purposely read/watch series you hated, or is it just me, sorry). but this actually grew on me instead lol. now i know why most people say inuyasha manga version is MUCH better. their feelings (especially for the main casts ofc) are soooo much better expressed here, while the anime really did them dirty.
so many details deleted and or changed for love triangle shit and drama purposes. but the ones i remember the most are, in the anime they added scene where kagome said “you can do it without me, right? i don’t think i can do it anymore“ (it icks me cause while it’s completely understandable if kagome felt dejected, it kinda clash with her canon personality, that is always selfless) or when inuyasha said “i want them both” instead of the canon scene which he actually explained that he couldn’t forget kikyo due to guilt.
and they legit deleted their deeptalk scene where inuyasha asked kagome to stay by his side and when inuyasha told her that kagome is kagome, not anyone’s replacement. the studio really sticks to “inuyasha loves kikyo more and kagome is just a rebound” buIIshit.
this is not me saying he didn’t love her btw, we all know he DID love love kikyo but i don’t think it’s as deep as how the anime tried to portrait. they didn’t even trust and believe each other, they be keeping many secrets from each other lol. which both kikyo and inuyasha addressed this specifically that the very first person inuyasha comes to believe and feel safe to be around is kagome.
Kagome SAVED Inuyasha when Inuyasha only PROTECTED her. That's a huge difference. Not to mention, she is the one who always finishes off the fight, her fight; Inuyasha was just being her shield. Many may hate her and Kikyo but not me. They are warrior.
I rewatch this and it's painful how I keep searching Inuyasha's validation and attention for Kagome every episode cause bro can't forget his first love. She was never his priority until Kikyo gone. This manga is still legendary in my heart tho. Can't hate any character but I just wish Inuyasha has more sacrifice scene for Kagome cause the whole manga was her doing everything unconditionally for him
ahh how nostalgic :)) I remember waiting every chapter to come out, saving little pocket money to buy the manga :)) also this is probably the only manga where I can tolerate a two timer and a lecherous man haha :)))
now that I've reread it, why did naraku try to capture kagome and force her to make a wish like how the pearl wanted in the last arc? His real wish can't be granted anyway so why bother?

If kagome make a wish the cycle of the jewel will repeat ,and naraku will be reborn again, As kagome grandfather says If you wish the right wish the jewel will be disappeared forever. So kagome wish is the jewel will gone forever so the cycle of will not repeated again.
I found out that Manga was different from animation especially on how they portrayed Inuyasha's love for Kagome, so I'm gonna read this even though it has 500 chapters
I haven’t watched the anime yet, but I read the manga a few years ago, and I’m not surprised that they’re different. Honestly, 500 chapters seemed like a lot to me too, but I was able to finish it pretty quickly. It’s so easy to keep going when chapters are this short (what did you think of the manga?)
i'm a little late but the main things r that they cut off many inukag development scenes in the anime and reinforced the love triangle just for the drama

When I was a kid I used to really hate Kikyo, but now that I'm older I feel like I understand her so much better and she's honestly growing on me
