This was my fav out of the whole series. Character developments and I love the writing. The whole series is so well written it's such a. Comedy and I love it. It's not smutty and doesn't need to be it's a slice of life and it's fun at the same time. The pace is good too not slow or fast but just right.
These two are my fav couple from the series

Last two volumes have been Mayumi resolving his issues and Yuuta acting super mature even if he was a broken child himself.. I wanted the author to drag out Yuuta's past too and see Mayumi's reaction to that.. Surprisingly I love this couple way better than Taiga and Shuu.. the slaps gave me heartache but alas Asian parents are like that... a good old beating (not child abuse if people think otherwise) from parents here is a sign of getting loved and cared for and Yuuta needed that a bit for worrying Shuu like that.

I'm genuinely shocked...I've read A LOT of yaoi/shounen-ai and yet this series has actually addressed things from such a new perspective, things that are very real as well. The thoughts the characters have throughout the series are so raw and in depth, maybe the author has been thru some thingss ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

So angry at Shuu right now. Yuuta always made Shuu his priority, taking his feelings into account when moving into some strangers home and getting imposed a new family.
There's really no excuse for Shuu. He knows Yuuta's background as well as his lack of confidence. But he still didn't want to go after him. And then he even got angry at Yuuta and slapped him.
TBH Shuu wasn't one of my favourite characters in this series, but I didn't hate him or anything. Now I just can't stand him. His half assed intentions with the big brother and now this? Yeah, no thanks.
What I did like was Mayumi. After whatever Kodomo wa Tomaranai was, he was again the same great character he was in the first two volumes.
I really don't know what to make of Kodomo wa Tomaranai after this. In the previous one, Mayumi was really off character and now he's back to normal? He doesn't even get angry because Yuuta is breaking his "forever promise" which was the whole problem of Kodomo Wa Tomaranai?

I meant Children's time not Kodomo wa Tomaranai

I didn't think Mayumi was off character in Children's Time. That manga was almost exclusively from Yutta's point of view, and we didn't really see all the reasoning going on in Mayumi's head. Like Mayumi thought in this manga, he doesn't put his emotions into words well. He was mulling over things in his head, half-assedly made a hurtful statement, got pissed because Yutta reacted to his actual words instead of reading his mind, and then got stubborn about it. Mayumi was being more thoughtless than he is usually portrayed, but he is still only a teenager. Even the most mature teenagers are thoughtless and prone to extreme swings in emotions.
What I like about this manga and Children's Time is that even when Yutta and Mayumi act in an extreme manner, the other tries to figure out the real problem is and supports the other. They are both still clearly mostly mature teenagers, and still a balanced couple.

As for Shuu.... He is still only in his mid-twenties. TBH, my parenting decisions at that age weren't always that great. On top of that, Shuu is still struggling with learning how to express emotions himself, even in areas without huge potential emotional land mines. Considering the hell Yutta experienced in his early life, I'm more surprised that they haven't had more issues.

Completely irrelevant autocorrect post... I can understand trying to change "Shuu" to "shoe" and maybe "Mayumi" to "Martini", why does it try to change "Yutta" to "Calcutta"? My autocorrect is stupid.

I read the first chapter and it seems like I should know more about the story from the pace of it. Is this part of a series? If so, what is the order?

Aki seems to harbor a plethora of facets being "the little pacifist" or "the nazi in charge of the fridge", or sleep deprived "mother-in-law" - we even got to see a glimpse of his "devilvish"-side in Hanaya no Nikai.

I love this series and the plot but i think (in neighborhoods point of view) that shuu just making excuses for the unintentional mistake he does to yuuta. Saying it's for him to learn to leave his nest or something like that. And i felt annoyed with the slap yuuta get at near end. It's just...unjustly for me i guess because their talking about a private complicated things that should be discussed first before he write it and taiga should be apologizing too coz he gave it for publishing. But I he didn't, so the fault should be for both of them not yuuta. He's just a child (at 16). Yuuta will eventually learn all that when he became adult (and I became seriously attached to the story i feel im a neighbor busybody) . Shuu should just wait .

Even though This is a really great series and though the first story was pretty confusing this is my favorite couple. Mayumi and yuuta are super cute and I love how they heal each other but tbh I can't really forgive shuu idc how hard his life is as an author but he portrayed this formerly abused child in one of his works as a broken puppy without even asking him about it and obviously yuuta was very hurt and shuu didn't think he was in the wrong but I REALLY think he was... idk anyone else?

Amorim March 1, 2016 12:31 am

P.s. ik that this isn't what yuuta was sad about but still the way he went About this made me kinda want to strangle shuu
