I didn't like the rape part but the rest of the story it was great. Emotionally draining their love.

He always said the thruth... he told him he had to get married. He explained his situation. They both knew what will happen after he got out. They kept the relationship and communication for as long as they could until he got married. After that the relationship kind of faded away to the back burner because of life compromises and reality.

Not to justify what he did... but he gave up a great military career and the love of his life just to satisfy his parents demands. The frustration and resignation must have been overwhelming. I think this is what the Sgt saw and why he never talked about the rape. (again I'm not justifying just looking to see where this raping came from... etc.)

About the wife... This wasn't a relationship build on love it was just a contract to fulfill on both parts. I mean marrying the little brother of your dead fiance can't be all emotionally great. I am sure she was equally tired of all the drama and knowing she was sick it was right of her to want to have a kid fast so the family issue gets resolve and they both can "live better". He stood with his wife during her sickness and respected her. Now both parties (parents) are happy cause they have an offspring.

Now that parents got what they wanted he can now be free and love whoever he wants and have the life he wants.

The wife got introduced then died almost immediately and rapist Oohori here is just COMPLETELY FINE ABOUT IT?! And the blonde guy (forgot his name) really do be like "Oh your wife's dead? My condolences...wanna bang again?" (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

What will you do if oohori's Wife still alive till the end? Do you still standing there with your love until the end too?

re16 September 17, 2020 4:35 am

They would still love each other but stayed with their commitments at the moment... Oohir would have stayed a family and the Sgt would keep on his military life. Both remembering the love they had and share.

I agree... 40% dislikable. I can understand him and his situation... except the rape part. That will never be acceptable (it's where all the dislike comes from).

Unknown woman marries our mc=death as soon as she does her duty, provide him with a son

Truly i loved the first story so much their love and circumstances were just wow but for such a dramatic story the ending kinda lacked drama? It was quite dissappointing i didn't mind the mom dying and her wanting the kid as a heir it is cummon nowadays but the way he said i forgot about you and i was shocked pissed me off and then akasaka said let's love each other again it was a bit rushed and popped out of the blue i expected a hot ending, them facing their raging desire to be together even after all those years maybe with a hot sex scene or even a kiss ..a hug? .. i couldn't see any of the past's passion tbh it felt as if the author got bored at the end and just wanted to end it ?but i Still can't unlove it it's good

I didn’t take the « I forgot you » literally as « you disappeared from my mind » more like « I was unable to think about you at this time because I had to take care of my dying wife » like in respect for his wife who gave birth for the sake of the family he couldn’t do anything else but take care of her and had to forget the man he loves ... but I understand your point though...it hurts...

yea i understand what you mean, i really wish they had a crazy hot scene at the end...(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

I totally understand your point but i just felt it needed to be more deep.

I love that the wife had to die at the end. Why introduce her if you're just going to kill her off? And with such a shit explanation as to why she was desperate to have a child. Sorry but if i know i'm dying the last thing i would do is have a child I really wanted, knowing that i won't be able to watch them grow up. Especially with someone i was forced to marry

Lilly3.14 July 19, 2018 11:13 am

In this case ..it’s an arranged mariage for the sake of the family...it’s like a contract where the woman’s role is to produce a heir... they are lucky she had a child...if not...the family would have forced him in another marriage...I guess that she was killed after the child was born in order to keep the story short...

I really like this story because it's about true and irrational love. I remember reading it years ago right after it was released, and there is just one thing that bother me a lot: this whole "forced marriage to make a heir". He had a son, his wife died, the son is left to his parents. WTF? Poor kid, his mother wanted to give birth even tho she couldn't be a mother for too long but she still wanted to give birth and now the kid is 'momless'. I'm sorry, but I think this is so selfish. And the kid was just a tool for their business??? What if the kid grows up wanting to be anything but the heir? Why can't people adopt????? There are a lot of kids out there, without anyone to call his family, and people still want to get pregnant as if it was the only way to be a parent. It is not.

¥401 January 18, 2017 4:31 am

that's the tradition practiced even nowadays. forced marriage, heir of business, the need of offspring - it's mostly irrational, yet it's reality ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

In japan china, its not about what the child wanst, but what the family wants...but its usually not that way for all , but those high in status

Pebbles September 17, 2017 3:57 am

TBH i thought he was heir to like a big company or even a Yakuza clan. It was just a store like wtf... you could just hire people and be a manager that just oversees the important stuff. Plus, if his parents are fit enough to take care of his child... why can't they run the store?

ao0taku July 28, 2020 6:59 am

I think asian culture really make a big deal of an heir with the same blood. It really is toxic and yeah usually its the parents that chose the faith of their child. Wish that this kind of thinking would be removed from the new generation.
