Did the kid want to talk to the author to tell him he loves his novels and therefore loved/liked him? Is that what he was going to say? Because if so I am glad that he did not mess up the first couples relationship. In the end that kid became the bar slut, what was his purpose in this story really? The master of the bar seemed to have his eyes on the part timer and somehow got the bar owner in on his plans to make the part timer admit he had feelings for him or something https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/la_vie_en_rose/an/la-vie-en-rose-chapter-5.html/24/ very sly and sneaky.
I kinda like the fact that the master is a easy/frivolous/evil guy, that's more realistic I think, all the main characters don't have to be pure and honest
I didn't like the bartender series because there was no purpose to the unrequited love... to me, the ukes who seemed to fall for Shiraishi seemed to have no other trait than to fall for Shiraishi. The fanboy came for the novelist, but forgot about him in a whiff due to his quest for love. The corner boy was supposed to be mysterious or unconquerable-- something of that ilk-- but he was so whipped by Shiraishi. Those ukes just seemed to be there to serve to make Shiraishi look better; Shiraishi was the only one that got to them like that. The stories eere basically just Shiraishi glorification, and I didn't come here to read a harem, jfc.
And I'm much more disappointed because the author knows how to portray unrequited love tastefully. Take that last story, where the purpose of the love is to help the protagonist mature, and show that one-sided afdection /can/ be a positive force. So much better than those useless bar stories...
