The reason about her mother's resentment towards him,does this give him the right to hurt her? I say,this is a completely different story,it ain't gives you the right to cheat. isn't it pretty obvious? think about it chronologically! boy meets girl, girl meets boy, fall in love. unfortunately mother catches on, dissatisfied with boy, threatens boy telling him rather kill girl than let boy date girl. girl doesn't know waits for him, but boy can't come because, fear of her life... years later after separation due to mother's remarriage they meet in college. start it again. but mother has awesome timing, sees boy and tells him that a worthless rat can't make such pure soul like girl happy. boy deeply wounded, believes shit, decides is best to end it. plays role of playboy, but only waits for her, all alone in the middle of the masses of bodies he accumulated, bodies without the warmth of love. so... then finally the point where this story starts. girl has accident, he lies to be able to take care of her, knowing she had just broken up with fiance and mother being not there, he can't possibly let her alone on her own. it gives him chance to spend time with her, be near her. though he can't touch her, because amnesia, self loath etc. despite that when his worries boil over he can't help but kiss her, the only thing he allows himself, being a manipulative cunniving business man, he won't do anything to really manipulate her. only a little more time together in the same space, a week more, a day more, a minute more. but eternity is her decision. and if he can't have her, noone can have him.
so tragic... so good... loved the last story the most. because, duh! characters!
p.s. you can't hate on the mom. she did it because she knew the pain of those orphans... she is a gutter rat herself... so basically she is a tainted being trying to keep her immaculate daughter's purity up high and giving her to someone worthy, unexpectedly... the boy she detested so much, becomes worthy as a major ceo and millionaire... but ... the most important thing is... noone is a gutter rat. everyone is worthy... 2.story shows that really well... but still I prefer the 3rd

All of those things could have been resolved if he just spoke up and told Alisia the truth, but of course as in every Harlequin there has to be some misunderstanding. All the more reasons if her mother threatened to kill her, I mean how can you leave someone you love with an unstable person? Plus one cannot simply erase the pain of being abandoned or the pain of not only being cheated on but being told something like "do not spoil my fun" (and I doubt he was just posing in that scene because later on we see that he is promiscuous and does not care to bed woman after woman). Yes, he was broken, he had a troubled past but it doesn't justify the hurt he provoked her even though I truly sympathize with the both of them. IMO just because you have/are in pain you shouldn't take it out on others and it's no justification to hurt them. I also don't like when a story ends with the guy being forgiven without any build up

thats too much how come a child an orphan on top of that think her mother is unstable all he thought about is her not being hurt because of him but then every man grows up to have his pride and i think he was working hard to be someone worthy of her but her mother told him no matter what he does he will never be enough even i as a woman would be pissed off and will rage it to the person i love unfair as it seems but why should he be the only one hurting he did it so she can hate him and never come his way again believe he knew if they were ever to cross passes he will never let her go but man it hurts on the only person you love says he wish he never met you and erase your existence in their life non the less it turned out fine but i really do respect him for not taking advantage of her amnesia
