i think the papers he held was information abt his fathers health bc his father is in the hospital. if u reread that part again, he said that his father was in the hospital after looking at the papers.

reread this and realize that this have similar feel to korean drama stairway to heaven but the girl wasn't her 'elder brother' sibling. both feel in love after getting separated when both families found out that the daughters were switched. the family with the real siblings left for abroad to separate themselves from the issue and non-related daughter was left behind with her real family. years later the girl meet her 'elder brother' after that family came back from abroad. the non-siblings missed each other and realized how they felt/in love but both families were against it as they feel that the are still 'family'. ending was sad as girl died of illness and boy died by allowing himself to be hit by a car as he can't live without the girl.
