But as they get closer the realities of living life as a Yakuza seem to make a relationship impossible. I like the main couple well enough, but I really like the side couple and wish there was more of them! Trigger warnings: blood, violence.

Shiki lives an impoverished life trying to pay off the debts of his lover who disappeared until one night he takes in a guy laying on a bench and finds out he's actually a famous model, Tenma, who buys all Shiki's debts and insists on living at Shiki's extremely run-down house. Shiki is baffled by the situation and the attention, but it turns out Tenma may have a reason from his past why he's so interested in Shiki. Trigger warning: Tenma is 18 but still in high school.

Taizo is buried in debt and thinks it'd be better to just end it all, when rich young man Kiyoto picks him up off the street and buys his debts. In return, he demands sex, though he also gets Taizo a job. Despite the significant age difference and the strange circumstances, Taizo finds himself falling for this kid struggling with his own family problems. Trigger warning: dubcon, sex work.

Tatsumi is a young omega mother who was abandoned with a load of debt by his fated pair, but when the alpha Ryuuga comes to collect, he decides Tatsumi takes his fancy and brings him and Tatsumi's child Riku to his own house. At first, Tatsumi is desperate to get out of there and pay back the debt, but as he sees Ryuuga's kindness and gentleness with him and Riku, he wants to stay, but fears the pull of his fated pair. Also includes a sequel about their married life a few years later. It's a cute story, but Riku's very realistic and funny "childisms" are what really make this one stand out to me. Adored by my Flamboyant Yakuza Husband Every Evening Sara was taken as collateral by a yakuza family when she was young, and now she's sold off as a bride to Ayatane, the leader of a new yakuza sect. She's terrified at first, but she finds that in his base Ayatane talks like a flamboyant gay man and takes care of his members like family. She opens up to Ayatane and falls in love as they deal with her former yakuza house, reuniting her with her parents, and overcoming trauma from his past with his family. I've enjoyed their relationship and the consent so far, my only complaint is that Ayatane's backstory is so dumb. It causes more questions than it answers and it is way less traumatizing than it acts like it is. Trigger warnings: attempted rape, noncon.

Hashiba's crap company is so bad that his boss actually sells him off to the Yakuza to pay his debts. When he tries to convince the young boss Miki to let him leave because he wouldn't want a gay man as his housekeeper, Miki demands a blowjob, setting the tenor of their relationship from there on. It's fine as a quick smut read, but nothing special and the way the same keeps forcing himself on the uke is kinda gross. Trigger warnings: noncon, masochism, sex work, rape, attempted rape.

Iroha and her brother are deep in debt left behind by their deadbeat dad, so she finally decides to do paid dating and ends up with Renya, who seems like the perfect guy! But after their first date and night together, Renya reveals he's a part of the yakuza who she owes her debt to and forcibly makes her live with him as his woman. But despite all that, Renya is protective of Iroha due to a past together that she can't remember. Don't know why they had to make Renya a nice guy, then a rapist, then a nice guy again, but I would have preferred it without the rapey middle part. ️Trigger warnings: lying/manipulation, coercion, dubcon, threat of sex trafficking.
