Karim is just a basic thief working for a Robin Hood-esque gang, but at an illegal auction he runs into demi-human Asena up for sale, and when Asena attempts to escape, Karim can't help but intervene. He ends up housing Asena with him until they can put him on a boat home, but Asena wants nothing to do with him. Except, as it turns out, Asena's body can't help it. But as the two grow closer and start to learn about each others' worlds, they forget that Asena is still being pursued by the people who bought him in the first place. I really like Karim, one of the most standup semes I've seen in a while, and Asena is cute. The lore for Asena's village is also really cool, but the whole explanation for Asena's body 'transforming into a female' seems forced to me and took me out of it a bit. Still, a really good read. Iori is a half-werewolf who works at a bakery and admires a fellow passenger on his train, Ren, from afar, dreaming of a love he's sure he'll never have since he can't go out at night without showing his ears, and Ren already smells like a different woman every day. But one day, Iori's heat comes early and Ren is the one to help him, causing Iori to beg him to love him before the two sleep together. After that, though Iori still tries to avoid getting too close, Ren isn't ready to let go, and Iori's brother thinks it's up to him to separate them.

Genjirou Momoyama (omega) is a manly omega with severe heat symptoms that can't be suppressed by medicine, so each heat he checks himself into the clinic. This time, he runs into an alpha who makes him puke the moment their eyes meet. Turns out this alpha is Touji Sakurada, the president of a pharmaceutical company who begs Genjirou to help him test new medicines as his guinea pig. Genjirou agrees, but as he and Touji get closer together, Touji's control is tested for the first time in his life, and Genjirou is told he's not enough for Touji.

The doctor Takasuji meets the beastman Kohaku for the first time when he breaks into the clinic in the middle of the night desperately searching for heat suppressants. It turns out they don't work well for him because his beast sex is female (what), but Takasuji "helps" him and even gives him a place to stay. But what is Kohaku running from? Trigger warning: dubcon(heat), forced confinement.

Haku is a beastman who grew up in the management zone for mutts, but when his father died and he got chased by kidnappers, he wound up in the world of humans and their high-pedigree pets where he was picked up by wealthy businessman, Eiichi. Eiichi saves Haku from drowning and makes the innocent and childlike Haku his pet, helping him deal with his heats and showing him the world. But when a woman who wants to marry Eiichi enters the picture, she threatens both of them and puts a wedge in their newly forming relationship. This is a really interesting world and I love the artwork, but there's no denying that it feels weird to have Eiichi sleeping with the very childlike Haku. Not for everyone, but if you can get past that it's good. Trigger warnings: attempted kidnapping, attempted suicide, feels like statutory rape.

Riku is a black leopard in high school trying to keep it a secret that he's a virgin who hasn't had his first heat. His new roommate Touma is a white lion who doesn't want anything to do with him as he studies his butt off by day and meets with his sex friend to blow off steam by night. When Riku gets his first heat, the two become physically involved for the first time, and even though Riku tries to get a girlfriend and live his ideal high school life, he can't get Touma off his mind. This doesn't have the best story, but it has beautiful art and good smut. Trigger warnings: dubcon, attempted rape, drug, rape.

Hitomi was raised in a family with all girls, so he really admires his tall and manly neighbor, Kamiya, even if he looks a little scary at first glance. He even makes extra food to share with Kamiya in the hopes of seeing him smile, but one day Kamiya reacts strangely and jumps on Hitomi, and not only does Kamiya barely manage to hold back from raping him, he suddenly grows a pair of animal ears. It turns out Kamiya has the rare disease of theriomorphosis that spontaneously turns people into animal hybrids while also drastically increasing their sex drive. Hitomi wants to help Kamiya, but Kamiya is having trouble adjusting to his new world while also keeping his urges in check. Trigger warning: noncon.

In a world with humans and cat beastmen who use humans as sex tools to get through their "heats," a young black cat boy named Meri lives alone due to the belief that black cats are cursed until he finds a human man named Kai on his doorstep. Kai is an escaped sex slave who starts to take care of Kai to repay him while insisting that his "curse" is nothing to be afraid of. When Kai has his first heat, he realizes the only person he wants to touch him is Kai, and the two admit their love. But what will happen when Kai admits his plan all along has been to run away across the seas in search of a better life? Either unfinished or has a very abrupt ending, but still cute. Trigger warning: feels like statutory rape (Meri's age is not established, and he's treated as sexually mature, but he looks young).

Ch.1-2, 6.5 - 5 Seconds - Hayato has special eyes that have been passed down in his family. For him, this means that when he meets eyes with someone for five seconds he can copy their "sensuality," so he uses his friends to help him jerk off. The one person he won't use is his childhood friend, Tsukasa, who he's tried to avoid since he realized his ability, but Tsukasa is too sharp not to notice, and when Hayato accidentally copies some eyes he shouldn't have and goes into heat, only Tsukasa can help him. A kind of random and unexpected setup, but I liked the characters well enough. Trigger warning: dubcon(heat). Ch.3 - The Way to Nurture Love - Keiichirou is a normal working man who got dragged to a gay bar and told to pick his type, so he randomly pointed to a worker, but when they turned around he saw it was actually his long lost twin brother, Yuuichirou. Yuu seems to be living life as a woman now, and Kei isn't sure he approves, but he can't help but worry, so he invites Yuu to live with him. But the longer they live together, the more the feelings from their past that forced Yuu to leave seem to reemerge. I liked it, but it is an incest story, so don't read if that's not your thing. Note: I don't think Yuu identifies as a woman, so if you're looking for trans characters, he won't really fit the bill. Trigger warnings: incest, transphobia(?). Ch.4 - Too - An unnamed protagonist (Nameless-kun) lives an ordinary college life, except for the fact that he has a stalker following him every day, buying and wearing all the same clothes as him, and putting not-so-secret cameras in his apartment, which is especially weird since he's a nobody and his stalker, Kudou, is quite popular. Nameless-kun doesn't see it as causing any harm though, so he lets it go until one day Kudou seems to stop dressing like him, causing Nameless-kun to wonder if his affections have changed, and that's when he realizes just how much he's been watching Kudou in turn. I'm not really into stalker romances, but this one was fine for what it was. Trigger warning: stalking. Ch.5 - Itai no, Itai no - Rei spends every day at high school breaking up fights between his childhood friends, Takuma, and Shinobu, who are at each other's throats over everything but insist on spending time together because of Rei. But Rei knows that secretly, the two are in a physical relationship fueled by their shared masochism. Rei has trauma to do with pain that has caused him to develop a masochistic streak too, so he wants in on this. Not my thing. Trigger warnings: masochism, suicide, voyuerism, violence, violent sex. Ch.6 - Mushuusei no Ohisama - Aki and Asahi were friends in high school when Asahi said he'd become the best actor ever and Aki promised to be the one to shoot it on film. Now, years later, Asahi seems to have given up on his dream and only works in the porn industry, but Aki is still determined to capture the best of him. But when they fight, Aki decides to rape Asahi on camera to show him all the faces he hasn't seen yet. Or something. I wasn't really paying attention because I don't like rape stories.
