Rita was the only survivor in his family of a plague and after that he was considered a cursed child, so when the time came to offer a bride to the dragon of the mountains, he thought this could be a place for him to belong. But when the dragon, Ignat, found Rita with a broken leg, Ignat took him in but said he had no need of a bride and Rita could only stay into it healed.
