Finished S2 (Ch. 42) as of July 21, 2026. Bae Jimin is a loner whose sole purpose is studying who becomes friends with Gu Kijoong, a misunderstood rich kid and “delinquent.” They have a very sweet innocent more-than-friendship but get pulled apart by Jimin’s anxiety and Kijoongs coldness. After blaming Kijoong for his grades dropping they fallout and Kijoong disappears, not showing up to school and ignoring calls/messages. Kijoong changes after overhearing a teacher reprimanding Jimin for fist fighting the bully and badmouthing him in the process to which all Jimin says is, “…yes.” Jimin then calls Kijoong‘s change out and Kijoong makes Jimin cry after saying they were never ‘friends.’ Kijoong stops going to school, joins the same gang as the bully, Jimin’s mom ends up in the hospital by overworking herself, Jimin, in desperation, calls Kijoong to drive him, they have a heart-to-heart and Kijoong disappears again, Jimin makes a deal with the bully to see him again, it was a trap to bait out Kijoong after he ‘ruined’ the gang, they beat up Jimin and Kijoong gets his eye slashed trying to save Jimin, police show up, Kijoong gets sent abroad not before seeing Jimin one last time and they share a couple kisses in Jimin’s bed and say goodbye, for now, at the airport. 3 years later, college Jimin is just about to give up waiting for Kijoong when he suddenly appears again and they hug. <3
