Why does it has a low rating? WHY? ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ TBH This manga is actually pretty good w/ a satisfying deep plot about homophobia and people fiercely hiding in the closet, fearfully covering sexuality with layers upon layers of lies and perfect "normality". It does not romanticise gay-in-denial BL but lays down the reality of what might be happening in real life. As I read on, I think Sone smell gayness (gaydar ALERT!) on Mitsui all the while after the #reencounter that is why he persisted through the depressed divorcee's abuse & self-destruction mode. (I was staring at Sone's face, curious as to why he doesn't even looked surprised when Mitsui finally dropped the "I'm gay" confession so I figured he must have been suspecting all while) I felt so grateful for his existence in Mitsui's life because he literally served as a salvation for him and gave him the courage to get out of his fiercely locked closet and take baby steps as a gay man, breaking down the barriers of the heterosexual conformity that served as his shield to cover up his trauma. I was annoyed at Mitsui at first but I'm happy for him now and Sone got his highschool flame finally fulfilled.

It's got all the trope I like. Salaryman, friends to lovers & the struggle of who to top.That said, I WISH THIS HAD A PREQUEL! It's cute but I sincerely wish the mangaka covered the process of how they got together. Tho for once, I don't have to get frustrated by unnecessary drama. Best friends for 20 years are now lovers. Whole volume had mentions how they became lovers and right now, they are trying to adjust to the whole lovers things like living together, parents approval and who should top #middle age pair. them handsome guys don't look like in their 40's tho! #the cover-up former ex-gf: well, they were taking advantage of the rumor that seme is still dating her but the girl is aware that they were dating, is now even cozy w/ her ex-bf's lover lol. the pair do have the intention to came out of the closet later tho, but it's a process.

This is underrated bec of the "cheating" seme. If you concentrate on that, you'll miss the top-notch quality storytelling this manga had. Give it a chance. It has a certain realism to it, not the idealized, magnified KYA-KYA STEREOTYPICAL BL w/ tons of reviews. No, this manga gave life and breathed out two men's life story and their imperfections.
