The Stranger in the Hoarding House
Ohhhhh this so heartbreaking.
Loss Time ni Hanamuke o
Very beautiful. Fuck this was so real and raw about a relationship running its course and getting stale. Super relatable and triggered memories that TBH didn't care to feel LOL. It's super well written. My only issue is that I wish that The couple actually stayed broken up. While it's really sweet that they did end up back together, I feel like the way that they they showed the couple 's problems throughout the story. Kind of confirmed that their relationship is done.
Ways of Parting
This was really well written and pretty profound. It took a very mature take on relationships, heartbreak loss, grieving and moving on. AKA a little too close to the chest for me lolololol. Not quite sure if I'll read this again because it is a bit triggering emotionally, but this is really good. All that felt incredibly realistic and nuanced. The author seemed to really understand the complexities and messiness of people, which was really cool. I can totally see how this was originally a novel. As much as Yoon and taejae did feel like soulmates. I really like that they didn't end up together. It felt really realistic about how life doesn't go the way you think and things get in the way of "what if" I also like how opposite kwon was to taejae and how he really epitomizes how opposites attract. They seem to balance each other out rather than relying too heavily on each other. Also his sentiment of telling Yoon if he dies in the field. Dad, he'll be there to collect his ashes fucking killed me. Didn't realize how much I long for someone to respect my similar sense of Independence. I do think the story pontificates just a tad on profound longing and feeling complete after the closure and Kwon and Yoon ending up together. And I do kind of wish that they would show the difficulties of their relationship. But I totally get the need to show the easiness of life now that they're together. I think this is also one of the first character studies in a yaoi that actually feels pretty believable. I also love the selective use of sex scenes. If anything, it felt like a device to show a phase of the MC's relationship of being just sex friends - Loved how Yoon actually took time to heal from his relationship with taeyoo before finally coming back to Kwon - as much as I despised taeyoo and selfishness I also get it, and I wish there was a spin-off showing him finding happiness romantically
Sex and Friend
Sweet and hot moments and I love all the misunderstandings but I hate how much the author painted the seme as scum. He should have been honest the second he brought the uke to meet the fake wife/son. The thrown in ex was also stupid
Profundis
So so sooooooo extra and obnoxiously cheesy. The story is purely just a vehicle for the sex. And sure it's working. 2 of the 4 dudes he fucks is a turn on, and surprisingly my monogamous ass likes the MC with both the ml and the hot stoic butler dude. Curious how this stupid guideverse goes now that the MCS have basically professed their love 3.75 because the plot is just so fucking stupid
Form of Sympathy
UGHHHHH SO ANNOYING. The story was such a delight and of course they had to fuck up the last arc. The slow progression of the MCs feelings of contempt to sympathy to adoration was slow burning but felt so sincere and well earned. I loved how much the characters subtly change because of one another and help build each other up. BUT then of course! The ml had to regress a bunch and became this needy obsessive controlling psycho. And yeah sure he has always had those tendencies. Like it's pretty clear he has bdp. But then it's almost like he completely unlearned everything from Seonwoo. Like I totally get the desperation as I've been there. Done that lol. But the story desperately needs to have an arc where Yuri actually deals with his fucking issues. It's such a disappointment because this story felt so real and thoughtful. Heidiwai the author decided to take that story down a really unnecessary path.
