RoseMary's manga / #Countryside(107)

Anata O Wasuretai

Complete | diana palmer,Ruka Kirishima | 2008 released

Well, I kinda liked it almost only for the art: Sadahiro Mika is one if my top favourite BL mangaka and I love her art style. So, I liked it here as well. Although I have to say that the art didn't feel that special here, it lost its charm because of the story itself unfortunately! In fact, this harlequin's plot is not that good. I didn't like the characters much. I understand that the male lead, J.B., had his own situation, being afraid to love again and lose someone he loved again and so on, but he treated the female lead, Terry, so badly. When in the end he said he loved her from the bottom of his heart, I thought that it sure didn't feel that way. He was hot, but that's it. And Terry was a plain and weak character, so blinded by love that she so easily forgave all the hurtful things J.B. did and said. Anyway, this harlequin is nothing special, it's just ok. The extra star is for the art, which was almost the only good thing here, like I said.

Umimachi Diary

Ongoing | YOSHIDA Akimi | 2000 released

9 Volumes (Complete) Adapted to Live-action movie - Personally, I liked the movie. It was good and well-done, with great photography and good actresses. But I must say that for the most part I found it regrettably boring. Anyways, I prefer the manga, so I hope to read the whole story!

Chinatsu No Uta

Complete | kitagawa shou | 2004 released

Ahh that was beautiful! Truly beautiful and heartfelt! But the ending honestly left me a bit unsatisfied, hanging...because I wanted to see a bit more of them after that. Especially going back, then, at the beginning! Like, in the very first page, we saw a bit-older Fuyuki going back to the hometown after 10 years, so what did he do in those years when he moved to the city and what will he do after returning back home? What happened to Chinatsu...did she follow the music path like Fuyuki thought she would or what? Did something happen to her maybe? And other things like that...Somehow it felt like some things were left hanging...Man, I want to know! Why did Kitagawa-sensei rushly ended it like that? Personally, I'd even have gladly welcomed if there was a sequel with a-bit-older Fuyuki and Chinatsu. It was too soon to say goodbye to these characters...I'd have loved to accompany them a bit more... Anyway, it's a bit of a pity. It was so nice and all while reading, also with such beautiful scenery, but the ending left a sense of incompleteness behind. It was still really good, but in the end I couldn't give it 5 stars. Enzo from "Hotman" appears in a few scenes here as a teacher at the elementary school the protagonists of the story, Chinatsu and Fuyuki, go to. Towards the end, Nanami appears as well, saying to Chinatsu she had transferred to the school here before her to recuperate better in a place with clean air. So the story is set a few years after the events of Hotman. At some point, maybe when Nanami's condition gets better, Enzo and Nanami will probably transfer back to their homeplace, where we see them in fact at the very end of Hotman, after the 10 years time skip.

Onshitsu

Complete | ikeda ikumi,hagio moto | 2019 released

Yosuga No Sora

Complete | sphere,Mikaze Takashi | 2009 released

// Based on a Game, which also has an anime adaptation // - This manga version is an adaptation of the Sora's route, so the twincest one. > Personally, I really liked this! The setting was beautiful and, since I love this kind of setting, that's also what made me really like the story. Anyway, I think it was well-written. Well, maybe some details could have been done better, and in the end I guess I wanted to see a bit more of them, that's why I gave it 4 stars, but it was a very good manga to read with a very nice conclusion. And about the main theme, the twincest, it obviously depends on each person...as for me, I love to read this kind of stories because I love forbidden love themes, so I really liked it!
