tragic ending? This one has an open ending which is kinda tragic The Duke of Redford, Theodore, hated his fiancee Anastasia.Because she was the woman of the Everdeen family who drove his father to death.So he poured out harsh words, hated as much as he could,he denied everything about Anastasia hoping that she'd be in despair even Her savior, Sergey, was put to death but she still professed love to him with dead Sergey's clothes in her arms .. He didn't realize until he saw her whispering false love."If you have someone you love, I'll kill them.……as you did to me." Skipped beggining MC hated ML and ML also hates MC, MC fell in love with Sergei, who was the only person who treated her fairly and loved her dearly, but she is ML's fiancee, everyone was laughing at ML because he was a cuckhold and MC now was considered an adulteress with an affair. War began, and ML saw this as the perfect opportunity to make MC suffer even more, so he sent Sergei to war, where he died. MC blamed and told him he killed the man she loved (not entirely true, because sending someone to war doesn't imply killing him, but well, in this story everyone comes with conclusions way too fast and without thinking too much), and wished to do the same with him, if he ever loves a woman or holds someone dearly. Now it's the hate phase, she hates him, so she decides to love him and tries to make him fall in love with her, she is extremely affectionate with him and even has sex with him (it works, he falls for her) Contrary to some rumors told, she didn't have sex or kissed Sergei, their love was so pure that they were afraid of wasting it on kisses, and she's also a low aristocrat, so she still values dignity. Evelyn ( black hair, a very beautiful lady) appears, and now everything reverses, Anastasia is now the jealous one, Evelyn knows she is jealous, Theodore doesn't believe her because he can't believe the woman who hates him also loves him.MC is now considered the other woman.Nobles always thought of her as the crazy adulteress woman. -------------- Skipped middle part of the novel Evelyn and Sergei are dead, Anastasia admits she loves and hates him, she is a very proud woman, so even thought she loves him, she still wants revenge, she sickened herself to death (mental problems can result in physical problems that lead to death) and told Theodore to suffer and never look for her if they met in another life, something he promised. Theodore died single and alone of old age, and returned to when he was a kid, he found young Anastasia and he though it was a dream, so he told her if she was her fiancee, and she answered him saying she is her fiancee, and the story ends there, because the author didn't publish side stories. from user RegisteredToAskAThing ------ Sergei, had silver hair he died in battle & they could find his head so a headless dead body was brought
