- layers of backstory, it just keeps getting deeper - also a realistic take on facing abusive relationships and past trauma - strong family and friendships - side characters have their own story arcs aside from their interaction with the main characters - the various relationships intersect to create shifts in perspective - everyone grows and develops through the story - seke/switch relationship

This is one of those stories where even though terrible things happen (including rape and child abuse) I can still rank it high, because they're shown in context and not turned into pseudo-positives or skimmed over too lightly. Finally, the character makes it through, learns how to build healthier relationships, and creates a worthwhile life together with his lover.
