Blindside Date
Definitely not typical Harlequin fare. Entertaining and doesn't glorify the lifestyle of the rich and disgusting like so many HQ stories.
SHY QUEEN IN THE ROYAL SPOTLIGHT
Odd, but not bad. Thank goodness he quit smirking at her.
A BRIDE FIT FOR A PRINCE?
I liked it. It was a pleasant read, and was different from most Harlequins. It wasn't as polished, but then, it wasn't the usual formula plot that has been written with minor changes a score of times by 15 different HQ authors.
To Tame a Wild Heart
Odd sort of plot, but entertaining.
Mistletoe Over Manhattan
I did enjoy it, but why on earth did the author have to make the ML so damned promiscuous? I mean, I'm not exactly a blue nosed prude, but this different woman every night syndrome is a bit much. There's normal sex drive, and then there's being a satyr. And... if you're going to be the satyr type, don't keep trying to seduce the serious women. It often ends up being a lot of trouble (unless you're a complete psychopath that enjoys hurting others), and it's also a cad's trick.
A KISS FOR MR. SCROOGE
I liked it. The story line was good, and I really enjoyed it. The FL rocked, and the little girl from the orphanage was adorable.
How To Host A Seduction
It was interesting and a really different plot from the usual HQ tropes, but I really couldn't get into the characters at all. First, the plotting of the ML and the old lady over him getting the FL. Second, even though the FL was something of a wishy-washy doormat, he was pretty much a stalker. The trope of "she's avoiding me completely because she really loves me" is waaaaay too close to the "no means yes" trash excuse of the rapist who swears he isn't. Finally, I really couldn't see any love or reason to be in love between the ML and FL. All they had (and all they talked about) was how compatible they were sexually. It's a pity, because the plot was really interesting and engaging aside from the things that turned me off.
Another Woman
Sorry to be so negative, but she really needs better therapy than she was getting from “Ken.” He mentioned that he had been seeing her for years, but it was injury and amnesia that led her toward recovery and not him. He didn't do jack s&*t for her, as all he did was find out her past and keep it to himself. What was he going to do, collect his fees and write a book?
