There's dumb as a box of rocks, then there's dumber than a trainload of granite blocks, and finally there's this ML. No matter what the reason, no matter that he didn't cheat on her sexually, he out and out betrayed her. So did her filthy uncle. In fact, the two of them might as well have been in cahoots for all the damage they did to her. When she found out all the truth, she should have taken all, and I mean ALL, of her equity in the company, left Uncle Scumbag to prison and his crappy excuse for a daughter high and dry, told ML to hug a root for all eternity, hired Lucha Libre to beat the living crap out of her wannabe boyfriend, then left town and gotten a name change.

For a change, I disliked the FL more than the ML. He was a real victim and not an idiot with hurt pride issues, and she basically fell right into the SOB uncle's trap. She also felt really sorry for scum uncle even though she knew that he had deliberately destroyed his nephew's childhood and life with malice aforethought. After his unbelievably traumatic childhood, being abandoned and betrayed by her could easily have caused him to go over the edge and perhaps even commit suicide. Did she even consider something like that? I think it was more of all about her. If she really loved him, she should be trying to save him, not judge him. Does she have even the faintest idea how difficult overcoming that kind of trauma is?
