Both brothers were total scum. Neither deserved any love or forgiveness whatsoever.

The ML was an unempathetic idiot as well as being a totally crappy father. She should have let the dog bite the hell out of him. He was also breaking the law by pretty much ignoring what his brother was doing with the company. He also “let his brother go home” after catching him beating up the FL and attempting to rape her and then hearing that he attempted to rape the FL’s late wife, killed her, and then threatened his then 5 year old son with death. Nasty little bro is obviously a totally self-absorbed psychopath who gets pleasure out of rape and torture, and big bro seems to be sad that the corporate board will sue said psychopath when he should be riding his brother’s head down a very long flight of concrete stairs, or at the very least calling the police and watching him hauled off in handcuffs to be tried for attempted rape, assault and battery, and murder.

I was kind of liking the story, until the ML let himself be easily manipulated by his brother. He absolutely knew that his brother was an insanely vindictive, vicious psychopath, yet he let himself be played for a sucker like it was cool. I have always had strong family ties, but if I had a family member whose sole aim in life was to ruin me and would happily hurt those I love to accomplish that, I would cut them out like a malignant tumor. The belief that you have to make nice with someone who hates and hurts you just because you're family is toxic and just plays into the psychopath's hands. It is one of those beliefs that exemplifies the old saying that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Damn the dude was an idiot. It's made quite clear (through his own thought bubbles) that he knew perfectly well that his brother was an adulterous, entitled sociopath who would lie and manipulate people in order to seduce a young woman he had no intention of being remotely faithful to and that he would abandon his own child without a second thought. At the same time, he is convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt, with no grounds whatsoever, that the poverty stricken mother of his brother's child who works as a waitress and can't even afford new clothes is a devious gold-digger with a long term plan to steal the family's [hard-earned?] money. All that his actions tell me is that he's a pure and simple misogynist as well as a total moron.

Well... That sucked! Forgive the unforgivable and redeem the irredeemable. Some of these FLs would continue loving someone if they were a pedophile and murdered old ladies for their social security check. How about a story about real people for a change.
