You sure he wasn't a cop in Ferguson, Missouri? And his plan, when he meets her again was to seduce her and dump her for revenge. When he tells her this at the end, she doesn't care because she loves him so much. He basically tells her that he had planned to ruin her life and all she can think of is how much she loves him. I'm sorry, but she needs some therapy big time and he needs to be kicked vigorously and repeatedly in the crotch.
