Ms. Reid does it again. She creates male characters who are nothing more than toxic psychopaths, and in the ML’s case, also a rapist. She then turns one of them around (the rapist, no less) and he becomes the perfect loving husband and father. I’ll believe that about the same time that Vladimir Putin rushes into a burning orphanage to save the children. I also take virulent exception to how this author makes the FLs into airheaded bimbos who immediately fall deeply in love with their rapists. It’s as though she really despises her own gender. Anyone who thinks this is a love story should have their head examined to see if it’s actually stuffed with last month’s unrefrigerated potato salad.

I got about half way through and decided that this rates as one of the worst Harlequins I've come across. The ML is filth, pure and simple. I'm reasonably certain that his boo hoo childhood is going to come to light and make it perfectly all right for him to seduce, rape, and mentally torture a young woman that he originally seduced when she was barely out of childhood and treated like a cross between a slave and a blow-up sex doll. He is basically everything I hate when found in my own gender. The only happy ending would be him dying in want and pain.

Not a happy ending. He should have died alone in unbearable pain, screaming his agony and cursing the day he was born. He was completely irredeemable and, of course, was redeemed beyond his wildest dreams in true HarlequinWorld fashion. Barf!

Scum boy Jason got exactly what he deserved; to wit, his ass handed to him. ML now, deserved to stew in his own juice for the rest of his misbegotten life. His “tryst” (actually a carefully planned one night stand) was as close to rape as it’s possible to get. In fact, it was rape. She tried to leave, he physically restrained her, and battered down her defenses while not allowing her to leave. His plan (before becoming father of the year) was to have his way (sex) with her, then dump her like last week’s garbage. If this deliberate psychopathic behavior is all because his late mother mourned her lost love, this mofo needs a veritable army of psychiatric professionals 24 and seven, or even better, boots upside the head followed by house arrest and an electronic ankle bracelet.
