They were all idiots, but the ML takes the cake. He knew his "high class" mother treated his fiancee like garbage, but went to the other side of the world for a "work emergency" leaving her with said mother. Number One: If he was in love with the FL, he should have immediately put his foot down to his mother about her treatment of the FL. Number Two: No one, I repeat No One, in their right mind leaves their wife-to-be with an old biddy who hates her and makes no secret of her hatred. Conclusion: He was a brainless, spineless wussy and his brother in the navy was the real man. This manga has a trope that I really hate, that of the selfless, caring person who gave up everything for the FL dying so the jerkwad can have all of her love and passion. Barf!
