A house surrounded by lush, overgrown greenery, and a beautiful, but distant man - this is what the gardener Nishikigi finds at his new workplace. He's not sure what to make of the master of the house, Kuraoka, especially when he asks to observe him and his work for his new children's novel. Nishikigi is only certain that the two of them are from different worlds and see everything differently - maybe even irreconcilably so.
