This is the story of a stoic, ancient Chinese emperor and his humble (male) peach maiden as they clumsily try to navigate through their feelings for each other. "Peach maidens" subsist on peaches, and everything they exude is said to be addictively sweet. When Tori, a boy, is born into the clan, it causes an uproar. Labelled a cursed child, he lives a lonely life until one day, he is summoned by Emperor Genyo. While Tori is determined to satisfy the Emperor, the Emperor doesn't seem interested?or rather, he doesn't seem to like the concept of peach maidens. Desperate to earn his keep, Tori begs him to take him. However, the Emperor's reaction is not what he expected...
