The Scholar, the Widow, and the Strange Thing

Scholar Daho was so brilliant that he was once called a prodigy, but his kind heart always got in the way, leading him to fail the state exams time after time. Each time he set off for the exam, he would stop to help people in need—and even on his tenth try, he failed once again... This time, he’s determined! Daho vows to pass the state exam no matter what. But just then, something strange and unidentifiable appears before him and makes a secretive proposal. "I will make sure you get into the exam hall no matter what happens. In return, let me have a taste of the widow next door." Daho hesitates, saying he can’t possibly agree to that. But the strange being whispers temptingly that even the unlucky widow Hongju—who has lost four husbands before even spending their wedding night—longs for the touch of a man...!
