At his high school entrance ceremony, Takada Kai reunites with a boy he had previously seen sobbing uncontrollably at his older brother's graduation ceremony: Hayase Kiyoharu.
For some reason, Hayase quickly takes a liking to Kai and, somewhat forcefully, makes him his junior sidekick. But as Kai gets swept up in Hayase's pace, the two gradually begin to grow closer and truly connect.
However, it seems Hayase carries a past that is anything but ordinary...
