Ok, so... I'm starting to learn japonese as well, but I already have experience with studying Korean (for 6 months approximately) and I also have done some research in how to iníciate with my japonese learning, so here goes my suggestions:
1) Learn the Hiragana and Katakana alphabet; How to write and pronounce them.

So... do you guys ever think that your language doesn't have enough swear words? Learn finnis! We have a swear word for every situation. You can even make sentences out of them:

I grew up speaking Korean and didn't learn English until I was about 9 when I moved to Canada. My English still isn't nearly as good as my Korean, but I'm working hard to improve it. I also really want to learn Chinese Mandarin! 2 reply
