I pretty much agree with you on this. Most Korean Webtoons tend to dive more into the plot, compared to most BL manga.
I still appreciate BL manga of course, and I do enjoy it to some degree, but my reaction nowadays tends to be like this:

Me: Ooh, I wonder what this one's going to be about *immediately reads*.

I'm 100% on the manga side.
I used to like webtoons, as it's so colorful and lovely. but well maybe because I grew with manga, I'm more used to the Japanese stories as well as their culture. here is more reason why I choose manga :
1st, I don't really like Korean webcomics panel.
2nd, the characters are rarely lovable (in my opinion), like how the...... 1 reply
I'm someone who loves a good plot so it fluxuates. But typically manga, I think the main allure of webtoons is their longevity and diverse art styles; they go on much longer than your typical BL manga and the art can be gorgeous. That's probably why I've noticed webtoons taking over the BL game here, because people can invest more when there's so m...... reply
Korean/Chinese BL is much more realistic and has much less random rape and noncon used just for purposes of putting two characters together. I can think of more than one famous manga/anime where this is used often and its gross. *cough*Junjou Romatica *cough*

I prefer Korean webcomics, they're a lot deeper, less cliche, and there's a lot of character depth, the characters tend to be more expressive as well. JP BL tends to follow the same cookie cutter stories, the story and character depth is superficial, you very rarely come across a really memorable one.

mangas, manhwas, and manhuas are the same type of comic, the exception is the country of origin. they are all done the same way. webcomics, the word itself is explanatory, comics made by software for internet use..
webtoons/webcomics= are made by computers software. ...... 2 reply

I have this girl I like, her name is Na-chan. We became close recently. And I just did the shittiest and cliche thing ever. I wasn't even thinking that time but I suddenly pushed her against the wall and kissed her. She was too surprised but then she just laughed it off, she's my classmate and uh yeah. We both started going on dates as how I like t...... reply
