I mean yeah, a lot of BL is shitty. I never seen as much atrocious shit in other genres as in BL. Rape and physical and psychological abuse are very common. Except for that there are stories where MC is a guy but is girlier than a girl, pretty much a weaker and more shitty version of a shoujo protagonist. Usually in that case ML is garbage and an a...... 3 reply

You meant “pedestalizing”
And the reason i primarily read yaoi (not shounen ai. I can just read straight stories with how heteronormative a bunch of bl is) is bc so much hetero smut is actually garbage....... 1 reply

The kind of "supremacist" type of people who want to establish the genre they like as more "better" or "superior". Seen that a million times over in other fandoms as well, most notably shounen fans.
Also, that ain't ...... reply
I can understand why they pedestalize it. BL became so popularised because it was an escape from a misogynistic reality. Women wanted to create stories of men experiencing what they would and everything resolving itself in the end. What women need to do is to stop using BL as the escape route. Gay men are not your safe space, they are men living th...... reply
