this is funny bc i've seen bl readers make fun of straight smut for having bad proportions yet they'll turn around and read bl like this it's the hypocrisy for me 1 reply
fictional p0rn > real p0rn. The p0rn industry has ties to s/x tr@fficking and you never know if the video you're watching is revenge p0rn, uploaded w/o the person's consent or r@pe.
Women hating men is valid. Argue w/ your absent father if you disagree. 1 reply
the drama, the beef, the memes, the discourse, the (horny) shitposting, the politics and the online jumpings were mad hilarious lmao That shit was more entertaining than the damn manga/manhwa. Users rly be dedicating entire threads to shit talk other members especially cestelle. Those were the days time rly flies huh
y'all are fr annoying af. I've yet to see readers of straight romance or GL go on other genres and say shit like "ThIs Is WhY i OnLy ReAd Bl!!111" as if BL is this perfectly written genre with zero flaws. Here's a hot take - a lot of BL's are bootleg straight romances and are written the exact same as the straight stories y'all hate so much but y'all like it bc it's ~gay~. The male MC is almost always coded to be submissive and meek and the 'bottom' while the love interest is dominant taller muscular and the 'top'. Ironically, BL enforces gender roles more than straight romance does. You could replace the male MC w/ a FL and nothing would change. Ofc there are exceptions to the rule but they're exceptions for a reason.
Another thing, BL is not empowering for women. Istg y'all will call w/e a woman does empowering w/o thinking critically. How tf is a woman writing about gay relationships between men empowering? How can a genre where the women are either a) non-existent or are side characters at best b) exist only to get in between the m/m relationship empowering? It's giving internalised misogyny. Instead of writing better-written female characters (who are in charge of their sexuality) write about gay men instead. Makes perfect sense /s
