Hi, I'm a member of three foreign language learning group chats on LINE (main language is English but we try to speak in the other languages as we are able and give one another encouragement). I moderate the Japanese and Mandarin Chinese ones, and am just a member of the third for Korean. I want to know if anyone is interested in joining one or more of the groups? I know it's hard learning a foreign language by yourself so we pool resources and tips. I currently have a MEGA file sharing service set up to share Japanese resources like Genki textbooks. Lately we've been sharing a live study room with cameras on Gooroomee, a Korean service (of course that's optional). Since I also study Spanish, I was wondering if anyone out there would be instead or also interested in a Spanish learning group chat on LINE? Caveat: these groups are devoted to learning languages and we don't discuss yaoi etc, though. I am a member of a couple yaoi groups if you want me to give you info on those lmao. As a Singaporean, I’ve learnt chinese and english side by side for my entire life since the government wants us to be bilingual by learning english and our mother tongue. It’s hard as balls and I honestly don’t recommend it if you don’t have any obligation to learn it AHHAHAH there are just too many phrases and ways you can write sentences ......   1 reply

I tried to do some self- study of Japanese, as well as Korean, but I always lose the motivation to continue (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜. However, it would be cool if I could learn it as I've always wanted to travel to South Korea and Japan. I guess the main reason for my interest is due to the influence of K-pop and manga/anime (≧∀≦). I did some basic Japanese during uni. The very formal way of speaking, btw. It was fun, but Asian languages wasnt my forte (I'm much better with European languages). I actually failed because my vocab was horrible, but still, a fun and memorable experience. As for Chinese, my parents never bothered teaching me much depsite having Chinese blood. Th......   reply
