It depends and I fluctuate between hating misunderstandings and really enjoying them. I think it provides a way to generate conflict and angst between two people while still having them both be “in the right” or at least understandable.
Example
Character A betrays Character B because no reason
-> why tf would they do that, character A condemned...... reply
If it's something that can be solved in 0.5 seconds but is drawn out to 20 chapters I just rage and drop it, other than that I dont mind misunderstanding much, it adds to the tension lol reply
I usually hate this trope but depending on
1) what the misunderstanding is
2) How they solve it
3) How much it actually contributes to the plot
4) If it's a dumb or complex misunderstanding
5) If it can be resolved by a simple conversation or its more complicated than that
