Yes and no. My father was a homophobic when he was alive, the type of guy who didn't support bl relationships but sexualized two females. The fact that I was reading yaoi wasn't really my problem in letting my parent's know, it was more so the fact that I was writing bxb novels, and that they were getting pretty popular with votes and reads.
