This is a hard question for me to answer because although I get them pretty often, I never really have to deal with them. When I catch myself having intrusive thoughts I just think "yikes" and move on with my life. The only real way to deal with them in my experience is to accept that they will happen and not let them affect you too much. They suck...... 2 reply
Learn to shut your mind off, take a step back, and ground yourself in the moment. Basically I tell myself, if you can't think good thoughts then you're not going to think anything at all.
Once you can do that, you can go back and look at what your thoughts are telling you, if there is some issue that you need to be dealing with in your life. But f...... reply

Personally, Ive only ever told my close friends last year even though its been 8 or so years since ive started. I would rather get eaten by a bear then see my family open my laptop then see two hotties mauling each other naked! I'm truly curious if its normal for peoples family to know about them reading this kind of thing.
