Both sides can be and/or are oppressed but one side is obviously more oppressed than the other. However, there were some times where some of my straight male friends were accused or labeled of being homophobic or transphobic both in real life and online, just because they said no when they were asked if they would date a gay or a trans person.

I think that both sides just need to hakuna their tatas. I read a lot of yaoi and yuri but when I see a homosexual couple in real life I’m not attracted to them nor do I ship real men or women with people of the same sex, or with the opposite sex for that matter.

I think you're making a mistake painting an entire genre with a broad stroke. I'm someone you don't want to hear from but I feel compelled to answer coz I think you're going with a sledge hammer at a problem that needs to be analyzed deeper.
