fujoshis are legitimately people who fetishize gay men. they apply yaoi to real life. *you shouldnt be proud to call yourself a fujoshi*, when some go to points of seeing a gay couple and immediately thinking about their sexual relationship; its disgusting, really. some think that yaoi is porn and it should be fetishized, but yall should know bette......   2 reply

It's a woman that likes bl works. (Fudanshi is for men.) It is not necessarily that readers fetishize gay men(though some women are like that), but that we can escape from the expectations/pressures associated with being women in our society, and immerse ourselves in a world that focuses on men. Or, in a lot of people's cases, they don't give a s......   reply

Fujoshi means rotten girl and fudanshi rotten boy. Most people who are new to Yaoi and BL like to call themselves like that but I personally don't like to lable myslef like that. An author of a BL webtoon told me that yaoi and BL are different. Yaoi is low quality or bad quality of guys having meaningless gay sex with no plot. And BL is high good ......   1 reply

Fujoshi is a female who reads yaoi and/or shounen ai, fudanshi is a male person who reads yaoi and/or shounen ai. That's literally it.   reply

I've been confused on this topic for a long time, since I enjoy reading bl and people considered that as being a fujoshi or fetishizing gay men. I had felt guilty about liking this genre because there are friends of mine that are in the LGBTQ+ community.

Just recently, I was browsing through tik tok and saw a video about what exactly a fujoshi is. The person in the video explained that the word might have been misunderstood in the west as just someone who fetishizes gay men. The term though, according to its actual meaning and history is basically just women who likes bl ( that includes everything including yaoi ). They were called "rotten girls" since mlm or the whole LGBTQ+ community at that period of time was considered "bad" ( or something like that ).

I know for a fact that everyone does not have the same opinions, that's why I wanted to hear what you think. ( also my recap of what she said is definitely not the most accurate or best so yea )

Please don't come at me but CBAW is kinda dragging imo. It's fluffy but there's nothing that particularly stands out about the characters' personalities and the plot is pretty lukewarm. The author should've kept it a shounen ai and ended it after the boys got together.   reply
